The Elk and Antelope fields lie in Papua New Guinea’s Gulf Province. Their discovery and appraisal formed an important chapter in InterOil’s development. Phil’s role belongs to that exploration and company-building history; later ownership changes occurred after his retirement as chief executive in 2013.
